Frequently Asked Questions About Shifters!
Q: What is a shifter?
A: A shifter, or psychological lycanthrope, is a person who believes he
or she is or should be some creature other than human. This creature
could be an animal, an anthropomorphic (human-like) animal, or a dragon
or other fantasy creature (in which case the person is 'otherkin').
Belief that one is a vampire or other undead creature doesn't count.
Q: Do shifters actually change shape?
A: No, but we wish we did. Psychological lycanthropes 'change'
mentally. The simplest shift is when our belief that we are nonhuman
gets stronger. Other forms of shifting include illusions of changing
into our animal forms, illusions of possessing animal powers, changes
in posture, changes in diet, changes in behavior, berserk or ecstatic
states, fantasies about being an animal, and dreams of changing bodily
into an animal.
Many shifters claim to actually change shape, but personally, I think
that's impossible outside of a complete cellular reorganization through
teratogenic means or a miracle from God.
But notice that I didn't say it was impossible. People who say anything
is impossible are skeptics, not experts on a subject. Shifters who say
shifting is impossible probably haven't tried hard enough to get a
shapeshift.
Q: Did you just say that God could do a shapeshift? I thought God didn't
allow that kind of thing!
A: Yes, I did say that God could perform a shape-shift on someone. You
forget that God is generous and kind. He knows our sufferings, and He
will satisfy our longings to become powerful nonhuman beings if we
remain faithful to Him. Read Psalm 37:4. God will reward His children
with whatever delights them, but when He feels it is the right time.
Q: What is a berserk state?
A: A berserk state is a mental condition where a person feels
exhilarated, excited, confident, and powerful to the extreme. The
stereotypical shifter gets dangerously aggressive when in a berserk
state, but I've had three berserk states, and none of them were
harmful. When I go berserk, I pray with more emotion.
Often, a shifter's confidence peaks when he mentally shifts, but a full
berserk state requires effort. To achieve a full berserk state requires
a good fright to get it started; drugs can help, but I don't recommend
them.
Q: How do I achieve a berserk state?
A: Entering a berserk state is not easy. The easiest and safest way
would be to take a walk down a lonely trail in a city park. I prefer
city parks because there is a chance of seeing criminals and thus I can
get more easily frightened. Country trails have the advantage of
greater privacy, connection with nature, and deadly black bears.
Walk slowly and take in whatever scenery the moon reveals. Imagine all
the wild beasts lurking in the darkness just beyond the bushes. Imagine
who might walk past you when you turn that corner. Imagine what spirits
may be accompanying you down the trail.
Once you are sufficiently creeped out, dart in a straight line into the
woods. Don't make a mental map. Feeling lost adds to the atmosphere.
But don't go in too far because you want to be able to find your way
back.
Now that you are in the deep woods, stop where you are and take in the
scenery again. Your heart is racing. When you get the impulse, suddenly
start praying for a shape-shift. Imagine that there is nothing stopping
you from receiving a shift. Allow your body to take on whatever
postures you allow it.
You'll now find yourself 'transforming' into the animal you wish to be.
The reason you need absolute privacy is both to avoid distraction and
to protect other people, just in case you are the type of person who
freaks out during shifts.
Heed this warning: If you are the sort of person who can't control a
berserk state, don't try this. Also, dress appropriately and equip
yourself for the journey, in case you DO become lost. Try not to enter
ruined structures in case they collapse. Oh, and one other thing: Avoid
haunted areas for going berserk in. Ghosts are very real and like their
privacy.
Q: What is an M-shift?
A: An M-shift is a mental shift. It includes all the emotional and psychological changes described above.
Q: What is a P-shift?
A: A P-shift is a real and complete biological change into one's
desired animal type. It is the Holy Grail of shifters. Almost every
shifter wants one but almost nobody knows how to achieve one.
Some exceptional shifters, in an effort to change, may have a partial
P-shift through plastic surgery, or they may don a fursuit.
Q: What is a fursuit?
A: A fursuit is a costume worn by the shifter to help him pretend he is
his nonhuman persona. Some fursuits are carefully crafted to replicate
a bestial appearance, but others are silly. Some shifters simply wear a
mask or a false tail. Most people who wear fursuits do so as part of a
role-playing fantasy, not because they are true werewolves, although
some rare shifters would do so.
Q: What's the 'longing'?
A: The 'longing' is the feeling of desperate anticipation experienced by all shifters when they wish they could be a
real were-creature, not just some insignificant human.
Q: I see you call yourself a dragon. What is that?
A: Just like werewolves are shifters who think they are or should be
wolves, a dragon is a person who thinks he is or should be a dragon.
Shifters are usually defined further by their phenotypes (the animals
they wish to be), so we get werewolves, weretigers, werefoxes, dragons,
etc.
Of course, the other definition of a dragon is a mythological fire-breathing flying reptile, but you already knew that.
Q: What is a polywere?
A: A polywere is a shifter with two or more phenotypes. This can become
very confusing for a shifter. I am a polywere myself (part wolf, part
dragon)
Q: What is a furry?
A: A furry is an anthropomorphic animal cartoon character, or a person who is a fan of such artwork.
Not all furries are knowledgeable about animal anatomy, so there is a glut of cartoon dragons with boobs and other mistakes.
Furries like to draw, and there are plenty of sites that feature furry
artwork. A distinguishing feature of furry artwork is that the animals
depicted are mostly cartoonish. That is because furries don't need
their characters to be real; they are satisfied enough to draw them and
pretend.
Furries like anthropomorphic animals but would never imagine themselves
to be one. That's what makes them different from shifters who draw
were-creatures.
However, I consider furries to be part of the shifter spectrum. They
have the love of animals common to shifters, and all it would take is
some tragedy to make them question their human identity and become
shifters.
Q: Are werewolves and vampires enemies in real life?
A: That depends upon the individuals, and whether you are talking about
sang (blood-drinking) or psi (emotion/aura/life-force-sucking) vamps. I
myself have a friend who is a vampire (not many, though, because
sang-vamps love to hate me).
Most shifters love animals and hate blood-drinking, but some shifters
crave the power that blood-drinking or energy-draining give them, and
there are vampire groups that train werewolves in blood-drinking.
Personally, I detest blood-drinking and energy-draining, but because I
am a Christian, I cannot hate the people who engage in it. I believe
that real vampires (as opposed to satanists who practice
blood-drinking), like shifters, have a hereditary predisposition to
become what they are.
I don't advocate hunting down true vampires. I believe in more peaceful
means such as befriending and counseling them. It is much better to
show vampires the way to
Jesus than to hurt them through violence and suffer a bad reputation.
Q: How can you be a dragon and a Christian at the same time?
A: Many shifters worry that they are so strange that they can never be
accepted into the Body of Christ. That's not true and its not being
fair to Christians. We Christians accept people from all walks of life.
I'm proof of that.
I have been told that my shifter feelings are a lie from satan and that
God has a plan for me in this human body. Well I don't know what that
plan is, and as far as I can see, that divine plan will never see
fruition because I feel too much like a loser to implement it.
So I need to be a dragon, a beautiful and powerful dragon that's fears
not what men can say or do and attracts many followers. If I was a
dragon, I could do so much good for this world because my
self-confidence would return to me. I pray constantly to God to change
me, and He tells me to wait.
If I can handle being a Christian, you can too, because I'm more f***** up than you are.
Q: How do I get a P-shift?
A: Please click on the link "How to P-Shift" at left.
Q: How do I tell if someone is a shifter?
A: It's not easy. Shifters are generally secretive, so they won't tell
you what they are. If they're M-shifting, they'll keep the fact
to themselves. However, you may notice the person suddenly appear more
confident and alert yet quiet (talking breaks the shifter's
concentration). His eyes may stare while he stand more erect. He may
assume a posture or facial expression like that of his phenotype
(flicking his tongue if he is a dragon, for instance).
You can also tell by his hobbies; if he has a lot of posters, T-shirts,
statuettes, movies, and other things depicting wolves, for instance,
then there's a good chance that he's a werewolf.
Love and Hisses. God Bless.
